Relationship Issues

Today’s families are diverse and at times complicated. People balance many roles as parents, step-parents, caregivers, wives, husbands, income earners and friends. Stress in interpersonal relationships is one of the most challenging kinds of stress in life. When a close relationship is not working well, it can disrupt many areas of life. It can intrude upon work, health, or other relationships, and it can lead to depression.

Getting married or re-married is often a happy time but can also be very stressful and confusing as many changes are happening to you, your partner and your family. Communication is critical to withstand the emotional ups and downs and often relationship counselling can help.

Separation and Divorce is also an intensely emotional time. It is not uncommon to feel scared, confused, angry, guilty, hurt or depressed. I can help you to address issues you may have in balancing your relationships, improving communication with your partner or children, and attending to the interpersonal distress for you and your family that comes from separation, divorce and blending your family (re-marrying).

I will help you to sort out your emotions, to understand your options, to learn what is in the best interest of your children and to help you stay physically and emotionally healthy as you navigate through these changes in life.
